While anxiously awaiting Nintendo's line-up of surprises this summer, specifically Flipnote 3D, I've gone back to my DSi to animate some old and unfinished animations. Basically, I'm just making some scenes look smoother, cleaner, and whatever else to better their visual appeal. Previously known as "The Fort Trotters," a planned TF2 animated comic about a me and my best friend's :icongentlemanlysoldier: crazy adventures in the TF2 universe, is now known as "A Tale of TueForts." The Fort Trotters comic has been moved to a newer premise. There was a bit of a struggle getting to this phase, but I'm glad that we finally dug through all the gravel to a base we both can work with. I'll be submitting these animations here on DA or if there is a problem uploading them here, the next best alternative is for me to get a YouTube account and submit them there.

With animations in mind, after I get the bases for my character's power-up idle sprites, I should be able to start drawing out their separate frames and such. I'll probably have some other sprites than just those four characters to spice things up a little and keep some diversity with my content. By then, I via should have downloaded a new program to sprite via Aseprite.

I also made the New Year's resolution to be a little more active this year and I do have some drawings piling up. However, I wouldn't consider them to be drawings as they're more like sketches. Nevertheless - the three letter compound word - I know there's something to find in all the clutter of papers. I can already think of three off the top of my head.

I guess that's it then. I'll be uploading those sketches I've stock piled every Friday to fill in the gap. PEACE!

I like to draw by hand with a standard 0.7 or 0.5 mm mechanical pencil. My dad runs a family ice cream factory (and I don't know how I manage to 125 pounds ._.). My friends and I are working on a video game called Momentary. I like round pizza and drawing in shapes. If you want to see my animations, go to my website. Till then, life is swell, nice to meet you! :D

Pbfft, it's fine. I haven't even celebrated it yet. Half of my family went to NewYork while I stayed here in Ohio. On top of that, lot's of homework, but at least this will be my last week for my first term in college. But yeah, thanks! :D

You wouldn't happen to know what pixel dimensions make up a 16-bit sprite, would you?

I've started my sprites on a 25 x 25 canvas, but they're looking very 8-bit like.

Also, if the dimensions are pretty large, how could I change the drawing space on a CyberTablet 12000 Adesa Tablet? I mean, I barely move the pen and that sends the mouse across the screen.

Well, it sort of depends. Samus in Super Metroid was less than 3 16x16 tiles tall, but more than two tiles as well. However, Super Mario World has Mario at around 27 pixels tall (if he has a mushroom). In both cases, their idle sprite(s) are 16 pixels wide, though Samus exceeds that when moving.

Hmm... Have you considered to change the tablet's movement sensitivity? I'm sure you'll be able to configure it in the same you look for your mouse settings.

So, in all actualities, it doesn't matter too much, as long as the game follows the same style?

And I haven't considered that...but I can't access its settings, or at least, I don't know where to find them. I'm using a Windows, so when I click the device from the control panel, it just takes me to its properties.

Actually, in terms of how the game plays, size matters because of hit boxes. A duck in Metroid is much more versatile than a duck in a Mario game. For example, both Mario and Metroid games allow the player the ability to duck. Both cut the character's size in half. However, Samus's duck is much more useful not only because the game is structured that way, but because the amount of pixels cut off between standing and ducking is greater than in a Mario game. This is just me, but I rarely ever use the duck feature in a Mario game unless I'm screwing around or if it's required.

Oh, I found this site today. opengameart.org Maybe you'll find something there that will be of interest?

Hmmm... I suggest looking it up yourself. I may just confuse you as this kind of thing requires visuals.
